Home Water Distillation Unit

A home water distillation unit can provide clean, distilled drinking liquid with little effort. Simply fill the unit with tap water, and it will bring the water to the boiling point, then condense the steam back into purified drinking liquid. The impurities are left in the unit to be cleaned out and washed down the drain. There had, however been some concern about the chemicals in the water itself being below the boiling point of water, and therefore released into the steam to be recondensed at a higher concentration.

The newer units have anticipated this and have vents for inert gases and low boiling point impurities to escape away from the condensor unit. Distilled water has no taste, since it has no impurities to give it any taste. This make take a little getting used to, depending on the current quality of drinking water in your area.

Having your water tested before deciding on any home water treatment is recommended, since you will have a better idea of what needs to be removed.Your county Health Department will be able to help you find out where to get your water tested, and the department of water in your city should be able to tell you what is used to treat your drinking water. There are many options for home water treatment, so the more you know about the contaminates in your liquid, the more educated a decision you will be able to make. A home water distillation unit may be exactly what your family needs to provide cleaner drinking liquid.

Home Steam Water Distiller

When deciding on a liquid treatment system, there are a wide variety available on the market today. A home steam water distiller is one option to consider. There are a variety of sizes, down to countertop size. They are efficient, and use very little energy, and use the water from your tap. The process is simple to use, and provides clean drinking water for your family. It basically brings water to the boiling point, then recondenses the steam into purified drinking water.

What about the impurities? They collect at the bottom of the heating pot, and are cleaned out periodically. Most of these units come equiped with a vent for inert gases and chemicals with a lower boiling point than water to allow them to escape before the steam is collected.

The taste of distilled water may take a little getting used to, in the fact that there is no taste whatsoever. The minerals, chemicals and impurities that are currently in the drinking water is what gives it the taste it has now. There are those who state once you have been drinking distilled or purified water, the taste of tap water will be offensive to you. The minerals that naturally occur in water have been under debate as to whether they are necessary for good health or not. The minerals we take in from our food and supplements more than make up for any minerals removed during water purifying. A home water steam distiller can pay for itself in a short time, just in money saved not buying bottled water.
