Uncover the Truth Behind Pure Water Distillers
If you’re looking for an easy, inexpensive, and effective way to purify your home water supply, pure water distillers definitely aren’t it. Distillers are notoriously slow and they are also very expensive and ineffective compared to other methods of water purification. They are quickly falling out of fashion and it’s understandable why.
A pure water distiller costs a whopping 20 to 26 per gallons and produces water at a very slow rate. Distillers were invented for use in the printing and photo processing industries because of the need for demineralized water. The consumption of demineralized water by humans actually poses health risks and should be avoided at all costs.
The problem with drinking demineralized water from pure water distillers is that it causes your body to reach an acidic state. This is because demineralized water contains more hydrogen, causing it to have a pH below seven. Anytime you consume an acidic substance your body tries to neutralize the acid by pulling minerals from the teeth and bones to produce bicarbonate.
It has also been proven that by drinking demineralized water from a pure water distiller, your body becomes more acid than alkaline and produces more free radicals, leading to an increased risk for cancer. Many studies show that cancer cells can only grow in an acid environment.
Numerous studies show that the people around the world who live the longest, most disease-free lives have access to alkaline water with high mineral content. Traces of minerals like calcium, magnesium, and potassium that are naturally found in water are vastly important to health. Drinking water from pure water distillers can lead to multiple mineral deficiencies as well as other health issues, according to experts.
Another downside of using a pure water distiller is that it must be used in conjunction with a carbon filter. Distillers are not effective at removing organic chemicals from water and you have to understand a little bit about how distillers work in order to know why that is. During distillation, water passes over a heated coil and becomes gaseous. It then transfers to a cooling chamber where it condenses back into a liquid. Most organic chemicals vaporize at a higher temperature than water and are thus left behind in the container.
So what kind of water filtration method is the best alternative to pure water distillers? Reverse osmosis is equally ineffective and expensive. Currently, the most popular method of water filtration is carbon block or carbon granular filtration. It is successful due to its affordability and overall effectiveness. Carbon block or carbon granular filtration is recognized by the EPA as the best available technology in water filtration. It removes all contaminants and does so for less than 10 cents per gallon, all without removing the beneficial minerals.
Your next step? Say goodbye to pure water distillers and start shopping around for a carbon block or carbon granular filtration system for your home. It provides the cleanest, healthiest water at a fraction of the cost of other systems. By investing in a carbon block or carbon granular filter for your home, you can have a constant supply of healthy, mineralized water at an affordable price.

Pure Water Distillers – You Might Be at Risk of Ruining Your Health by Drinking From Them
Have you noticed recently that more and more people seem to be saying distilled water is unhealthy?
And that because it takes so much energy to make a gallon, pure water distillers are ecologically irresponsible?
They’re certainly right about distilled water being unhealthy.
Fifty years ago we were told the complete opposite. Back then health experts announced that drinking distilled water was one of the best things we could take for our health. Researchers supported this with what seemed to be rigorous, scientific studies.
Distilled water became a huge health fad and today we are only just shaking ourselves loose from the out of date science that supported it.
I said “out of date” because the facts are that when you boil water and then condense the steam back into drinking water, you leave nearly all solid contaminants behind.
And that includes the healthy natural minerals like calcium, magnesium and potassium which are dissolved from rocks deep down in the earth, gently brought to the surface by rising water and find their way into our drinking sources.
Leave out these trace minerals and we will be come sick, because we need them.
Nowhere on earth will you find natural water that is demineralized. So it stands to reason your drinking water should contain the healthy minerals your body must have.
Water researcher and doctor, Zoltan Rona did an interesting study. She evaluated over 3000 tests on blood, urine and hair and found that, “almost without exception, people who consume distilled water exclusively, eventually develop multiple mineral deficiencies.”
What’s more, pure water distillers produce water that has an acidic pH.
When you drink that your body attempts to balance this pH value by sucking from your tissues and organs minerals, particularly calcium, and electrolytes such as sodium, potassium and chloride.
This alarming fact is well documented. When you drink this water in the normal course of your day you are robbing yourself of healthy minerals.
It becomes dangerous for you during fasting since distilled water robs your body of some electrolytes. And using this water for cooking is unhealthy as it removes minerals in the raw food and your meals become less nutritious.
Distilled water has one redeeming feature, perhaps. This effect of a high pH will also cause it to absorb toxic substances.
So people needing to detoxify will find carefully drinking limited quantities of water from pure water distillers under supervision for a maximum of a few weeks will help cleanse them.
Overall, pure water distillers might be excellent in the labs where they make water for experiments, but they will cast a shroud of ill health if they find their way into your kitchen!
But these household pure water distillers are also ecologically inefficient.
Just have a look at the specifications of any commercial bench top distilling machine. You will find they produce something like under one gallon of water in four hours.
This would be a reason for shame in most industries. All that electricity, running for hours, to produce such a small quantity of water. Then there is the electricity you need to run your fridge as the gallon of distilled water cools down to a drinkable temperature.
These distillers are plainly energy guzzlers.
There are more modern, proven, healthier alternative ways to get pure drinking water. Actually, I have written about some of these at my web site pure-drinkingwater.com and I’d invite you to click there now and keep reading about pure water distillers, and a pure water filter I recommend.
