Pure Water Distillers – The Shocking Truth Exposed
Pure water distillers serve very important uses in some forms of industry. A pure water distiller is not however, the right choice for home purification use.
Studies have shown that drinking from pure water distillers on a regular basis could lead people to suffer from mineral deficiencies and digestive problems. It is thought that the practice could possibly lead to other more serious and immediate health issues.
A perfect example is to take someone who has been exercising or performing strenuous labor in the heat of the day. Should this person attempt to re-hydrate himself from a pure water distiller, he could suffer a malady known as “over-hydration”. This malady would result in the individual having to be hospitalized in order to get his electrolytes back to the normal, healthy level.
Electrolytes – Vital to Hydration
Many people don’t know exactly what electrolytes are, only that they were mystically discovered by Gatorade. The truth is that electrolytes are simply minerals, the most important of which are sodium and potassium. Pure water distillers actually remove those all important minerals, along with other that are naturally present in water.
The fact that a pure water distiller removes all mineral content is good for many industrial purposes, such as film developing. De-mineralization is bad for the human body though. Our bodies cannot function properly without the dietary inclusion of electrolytes and other minerals.
Sports Drinks – Not the Answer
This is the reason that sports drinks have become so popular, but there is a downside to them too. Even though sports drinks are excellent for hydration and the replacement of electrolytes, the amount of sugar that they contain does not make them an entirely healthy choice for drinking on a regular basis.
Best Choice for Water Purification
The home water purification is a multi-stage unit that will block a variety of contaminants. This is necessary because you have so many different contaminants to deal with. A filter with an ion exchange will not only serve the purpose of removing lead and other heavy metals from your drinking water, but it will replace those elements with sodium and potassium.
Pure water distillers will also not remove harmful chemicals from your water. Chemicals generally evaporate more rapidly than water does, so the vaporized chemicals transfer over to the distillery catch tank almost before the water does. A home water purifier using an activated carbon and a multi media block filter will effectively remove all chemical contaminants from your water.
While a pure water distiller is effective at removing most bacteria, amoeba, and other microbial pathogens, you can get that same kind of protection elsewhere. A home purification system featuring a sub-micron filter will remove all of the biological elements that you need in order to be safe.
As we said before, pure water distillers are simply not a good answer for clean drinking water at home. A good quality home purification will provide you with all of the protection that you need in order to be safe from the toxic contaminants found in our water supply. Finding the right water purifier can be a challenge. I know it was for me but I did find one that met all the requirements for water that is clean and pure.

Water Purifier For Home Usage – The Pros and Cons
Little discussion is needed when considering a water purifier for home use. We all have noticed the bad taste of water when it is contains synthetic chemicals like chlorine or fluoride. It is up to us to choose the right water purifier for home use in order to combat the bad.
Distillation heats water to a boiling point where the water then vaporizes. At that point, many contaminants are separated from the vapor.
The vapor is then condensed, that is, it is turned back into water that is much cleaner than before.
A major advantage of distillation is that takes away a wide range of pollutants, for example pathogens and chemicals.
However a big disadvantage with distillation is that many synthetic chemicals boil at a lower temperature than water does and therefore the chemicals are vaporized and condensed along with the water. Therefore the distilled water you drink may not be as clean as you think.
Distillation also uses a lot of energy and has a slightly higher than average waste water ratio compared to some other methods.
An ultra-filtration device acts like a molecular sieve in which suspended solids and solutes of high molecular weight are retained, while water and low molecular weight solutes pass through the membrane. The filter takes away dissolved molecules according to their size. It is efficient in taking away microorganisms and synthetic chemicals.
A carbon absorption water filter gets rid of unpleasant tastes, smells, chlorine, gases and many other chemicals. This method can also get rid of microorganisms.
Carbon filtration has been recognized by the U.S. EPA as the best available technology for filtering VOCs and THMs. Unlike distillation, carbon filtration does not get rid of the essential minerals in water, allowing for great tasting and healthy water.
